How to Submit Your MCP Server to Cursor Directory
Who’s there
Cursor users looking for MCP servers, skills and rules to add to their editor.
You build
A public GitHub repo with your MCP config, plus any skills or rules for your product.
Read https://indiehustles.com/marketplaces/cursor-directory and look at our product and codebase. Is Cursor Directory a good opportunity for us? If it is, tell me what we'd build for it, the smallest version worth listing, and how much work it would take. Wait for my go-ahead before building.
Steps
- 1
Make a public GitHub repo. Add your MCP server config as
.mcp.jsonat the root. - 2
Add skills as
skills/<name>/SKILL.mdand rules asrules/<name>.mdcif you have them. - 3
Add
.cursor-plugin/plugin.jsonwith your name, description, logo andhomepage. The homepage becomes the link to your site. - 4
Sign in at cursor.directory with GitHub or Google.
- 5
Go to cursor.directory/plugins/new, paste the repo URL and click Scan repo.
- 6
Check the name, description and the parts it found, then submit. A safety scan runs, and your page goes live if it passes.
Good to know
- This is not the official Cursor Marketplace. That one is curated and much harder to get into.
- Missed the homepage? Add it later from Edit on your plugin page.
- A
.claude-plugin/plugin.jsonalso works, so one repo can serve Claude Code plugins too. - Plugins the scan flags stay hidden. Keep the repo free of obfuscated code and surprise install scripts.
